Thankful ... even when I'm not too happy about the circumstances

I've got chili in the crockpot, Sleepless In Seattle on tv, and a sweet baby napping. Niiice. :)

Yesterday my husband read a memo at work announcing that they may be possibly working the day after Christmas and on New Years Eve. Seriously?!?! The 26th is a Sunday and the NYE has never been a day they have made people work! Josh says it's because the postage price will increase after the New Year, so they are making everyone work to get things done and sent out before then. He works in a publishing plant and does quality control on books/magazines. Yuck! I'm typically down for some overtime and extra money, but this is too much. My husband hasn't been able to be home much this year with using the majority of his vacation and personal days on doctor's appointments. They wont cover doctor's appointments. I want him home!!!

I know, I'm whining.

This is just one of the many problems I have with Josh's job. However, I know that I shouldn't get to the point where I am not thankful for it. I am thankful that God uses it to provide for our family. In a day where a steady job is hard to come by, I know we're pretty darn blessed. It's not a perfect job, but it is a job. & I do get to see my husband more than some other women see theirs. I just can't help but feel a little selfish sometimes. Until God sends something else, I know we've just got to keep pushing through and Josh has to continue being a good employee. & I've got to keep praising God for all the good He has done with this job, despite how unhappy it can make me at times.

Well, I guess that's all for today! I've got laundry to fold and a husband to get pretty for! :)

  1. Hi there! I am a new follower from Mommy only has two hands! I love your story and look forward to reading more! Sometimes as a SAHM, I can get a little selfish about time with the hubby also. When you don't get a lot of adult conversation, you REALLY miss it!! Sometimes my husband will look at me like...really, are you going to stop and take a breath or what! Your daughter is beautiful..congratulations! There's nothing more precious than becoming a mom. I would love for you to check out my blog at http://www.8aplenty.blogspot.com
